Where we come from

DutyFree La Frontera originated on the Panama-Costa Rica border in Sixaola. It began as a small duty-free shop, like so many others: bottles of liquor, a few souvenirs, and the constant flow of tourists arriving and departing. Behind it was a man who didn't always imagine becoming an entrepreneur. The idea came about almost unplanned, during a common conversation over beers with a friend. It was that friend who suggested opening a duty-free shop, and the answer was a quick yes. No one imagined that conversation would be the turning point for everything that would follow. The shop was built on the dream of an immigrant family, along with a group of passionate young people. Today, the company continues to grow, with increasingly ambitious goals and the objective of improving the economy of this small country known as Panama.

Vision

Continue growing to create more job opportunities, support more families, and contribute to the development of Bocas del Toro and Panama. We want to promote investment where no one has previously invested, demonstrate the potential of our province, and give back to the community all it has given us.
